Have you gained weight during this outbreak? Many have. Well, I guess most of us know that to lose weight, we need to live a healthy lifestyle, by eating nutritious food and exercising regularly. Does it sound a bit too hard for you to start? Then maybe you need just one easy baby step to help you start a healthy routine – how about apple cider vinegar? 😉
Why Apple Cider Vinegar?
Apple cider vinegar is consist of about 5-6% of acetic acid, which has various benefits for fat loss. For example..
- Lowers blood sugar levels
- Decreases insulin levels
- Improves metabolism
- Reduces fat storage
- Burns fat
- Suppresses appetite
Apple cider vinegar may promote fullness, which automatically make us take in less calories when eating.
Some study shows that the one who took vinegar with a high-carb meal had a lower blood sugar response one hour after eating. They also ended up consuming fewer calories for the rest of the day.
However, there are also downsides of apple cider vinegar as well:
- Vinegar should be diluted, perhaps by water (both hot and cold are okay), milk, or soda water. Its high acidity can damage tooth enamel when we sip it straight.
- It may worsen low potassium levels. So anyone taking medications that can lower potassium should consider before making apple cider vinegar a part of your life.
- Vinegar can alter insulin levels. People with diabetes should be particularly cautious. Better if consult with doctor first.
Add It Into Your Life
I personally like taking 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with warm water and honey in the morning. You can also mix it with soda water – I think it’s refreshing to have the drink especially on a hot day. I found on the Internet too that some people have apple cider vinegar with milk and honey. If you mix it with yogurt, milk, and your favorite sweetener in a blender, it will be like lassi – sounds nice eh? 😀
If you find it difficult to have it as a drink, then maybe you can simply start with mixing it with olive oil and have it on salad? It forces you to take in vegetables too, so I think it’s a good idea!
I have been trying this diet for 2 weeks now and within the first week I lost 1 kg without workouts. I’m looking forward to seeing results in a few more weeks. Hope you guys found this article helpful 🙂
